Barbara has been involved in education for over thirty years. Since 1988, she has focused on school operations in the area of food service becoming a nationally recognized leader in the field. She has extensive experience as a consultant as well as hands-on experience as a supervisor, restaurant operator, and educator.
Barbara received both her Master of Science degree in Food/Nutrition Education and Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Education Administration from Immaculata University. Her interest in the dynamics of organizations led her to post-graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to her education and work experience, Barbara has presented nationally on a variety of subjects, including childhood obesity, wellness policies in schools, and contracted services to non-public schools. She has been a dedicated member of the International Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) serving in the capacity of committee chairman of the Food and Nutrition Committee at the international level. Her innovative programs have been published in the School Board Association Journal, ASBO, and the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) publications.
She has been awarded ASBO’s Pinnacle Award and PASBO’s Award of Achievement on two different occasions.
